WILD LOVE 02/20/2012
0 Comments

No outcome guaranteed, yet still

You cry out for a wild love

Wild and free

Merging with shifting skies

Eternal, undiminished.

Beyond society’s judgments

            I found you

Beyond good and nice

Beyond the coverings

Of this particular life.

            I found you

In Rumi’s field.

This precious life

A simple love inspires us

Unfolds, grows

Yet fear and insecurity

Old pain, old shame

The voices of those who

Would give us bad advice

Keep us tame, keep us the same

Would cling and cramp and blame.

What synergy of you and me

Blissful dreams and memories

Lost parts reclaimed

Our voices proclaim

A gift of grace and courage

Sitting with uncertainty and change

            We pray

There is nothing to forgive

No need to please

Fly through a blameless universe

Hearts open like a child

            We pray

Wide eyed, luminous and free

Spontaneous, innocent and holy.

Listen to the god within

As faint hearts grow stronger.

Everything is as it should be.

    Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows
    Who violently sweep your house
    Empty of its furniture, still
    Treat each guest honorably
He may be cleaning you out
    For some new delight.
The dark thought, the shove, the malice
meet them at the door laughing
    And invite them in.
    Be grateful for whoever comes
    because each has been sent
    As a guide from beyond.

     Rumi

At times, for brief moments, as a girl, I grasped wisdom; but as a woman succumbed to fears, hid behind false innocence, self-deception, or bought into the lies and violence of a mad world and had to find my way back to the person I want to be.

How does one live authentically?  The only way is through self knowledge to self worth, to honour your choices and desires, to go deep inside and discover that you can reclaim your world, every day, in your own  imagination, persisting, flowing , surrendering ...
